Iron oxides

Iron oxide pigments are characterized as non-hazardous inorganic color pigments with superb weather and lightfastness. They are being used for coloration of numerous materials in a broad variety of industries, the most important being construction, paints and coatings, plastics and paper.

Our iron oxide products are manufactured by Zhejiang Huayuan Pigment Co. Ltd. and they are marketed under the brand name of HYROX. Zhejiang Huayuan Pigment Co. Ltd. is a major manufacturer of iron oxide pigments in China, having experience of over 25 years in this chemical field. A significant modernization project has converted the plant in Deqing into a highly modern site, using state of the art technology for manufacturing, surface treatment, water and gas treatment for full ecological compliance.

The iron oxide pigments serve various purposes, of which the most common one is the beautification of grey cement-based materials. But the coloration can also have other effects as e.g. safety in traffic environment or indication of areas and directions.

Iron oxide pigments have diversified functions in paints and coatings. Adding color is a visual decorative effect, but they also contribute to the strengthening of coating layers, help to protect surfaces and give indicative visual effects.

Plastics applications

Whilst red iron oxides are usable in a wide variety of plastic resins, yellow and black products are less heat resistant and change color shade at relatively low temperatures. Therefore, the use of yellow and black in plastics is very limited. The industry consumes a significant amount of iron oxides in the coloration of polyolefins for use in containers like e.g. flower pots. Paper applications
